River Tame South
Ashton Under Lyne, Stalybridge, Reddish, Stockport
Varied paths to follow river through urban areas
About
Official path, waymarked as the ‘Tame Valley Way’. Only mapped by Ordnance Survey, only about 1/3 marked. Looses the river in Reddish and along the Peak Forest Canal. Good underfoot everywhere. Not many people. Walk is fields or scraps of woodland, Kingston‐Stalybridge is industrial canal. Joins places not often visited, so few people—a bit drab along the canal, but everywhere good for a quiet stroll.
