Cavendish St.
The river can not be followed, and start of the Huddersfield Canal is buried under a supermarket. (main path) South to the marina, Alma Rd. to Cavendish Street, left over the bridge. (alt path) Follow canal and track. Both paths cross the carpark, then south of the supermarket, next to river
Portland Basin
Switch from the Peak Forest Canal (Northwards) to the Huddersfield Canal (Eastwards). Not possible direct—walk to the basin where there is a bridge, then walk back
Sandown Drive
Broken path/bridges fixed with security fence. Stay high on the bank
Stockport
Walk east through centre. Traffic lights in front of megastore, left onto A560. Right on Howard Street, over the bridge, left on paved area, right under M60. Left again over the Tame
