Rochdale Canal

WARNING: Ancoats outer–Failsworth section is called as ungood. In Rochdale the towpath is dragged off to a roundabout, otherwise few problems. The towpath is at least sand and wide, all the way. Modern industry round Rochdale, may even get to see suds or slicks on the water. Very green and overgrown, though well‐maintained. This slow‐climb into the Pennines is mostly good, sometimes wonderful, and continues to Calderdale.
