Altrincham Street
No way to exit the buildings, but the walk by the railway is good
Castlefield Basin
The best start, unless prepared to retrace steps. We like Castle Street, the canal is marked as an an alternative
Potato Wharf
Marked as an alternate walk as it’s the Medlock, and interesting, but a purposeless route
Hulme Locks
Exit of the Medlock into the Irwell. The Bridgewater Canal is pleasant but here inaccessible. The locks are blocked by constructors
